Consider a few things other than a very good use, if possible that you already suggested.

Having the backround information on various doctors in their fields, which can help you make a decision on which one to choose.

Same with surgury options, you could review the procedures and the possible % rates of success or non success, then make your decision.

How about just the totally disclosed information about the exact surgery that you are going to be experiencing, reducing all of the questions you may have about it.

How about the details about your condition, what caused it and how to proceed.

All of this on a secured site!

How about doctors being able to research your entire medical history, in just a glimpse, instead of going through what I went through today, filling out pages and pages of sheets with the same information requested many multiple times.

There are others, and, it is my belief that the only reason this has not happened already is we did not have the partners, or the funds. I now believe that we will have both, and very "soom".
