"Just as we did when we invented the concept..."

Wow, now a 'concept' is considered 'real property' (intellectual, propriety or otherwise?) and thus can be owned?

I'd like to 'invent' the 'concept' that faster than light travel can be powered by a hamster and peanut butter.

Does that mean interplanetary travel has been invented since I have just invented the concept of how to make it happen? Or do I actually need the 'expertise' and 'engineering' to make a peanut butter powered hamster influence the space-time continuum enough to make it a reality?

Or have I forgotten that hamsters are allergic to peanut butter?

Inventing a concept.... what a novel idea.
