``I never meant to imply EDig had NOTHING to do with the Digesystem, just that EDig`s role in it was not what we all have come to assume. The original concept of the embedded version of the Digeplayer was conceived by EDig but at the time no mention was made of Linux being involved..``

Frank....the DigEplayer is configured as non excess able system....not even the management handlers have access to content.....you push a few buttons and watch a movie.

A specialized hand shake is made between the data loader and the player with complementing protocol...upon connection every thing that takes place in the player is automated....no one does it manually...it automatically erases the old files to make way for the new content write.....that write and erase require an os kernel to preform the service....there are other things requiring the service of the kernel.

With this and the processor involved...should turn into a media co processor scheme to be hung onto main processor driven platform....if the content is important.

Linux is not an issue for this service.
