However, they treat the NOR in the same fashion as NAND, even though NOR does not need the cache entity. It can xip directly, however it has other short comings mainly dealing with data storage ability.

e.Digitals patents to some degree, IMO, have brought on this extreme change, by signaling I/O through their methods brings NAND on par with NOR for both code and storage......and where it's cheaper to produce density, NOR is pushed to the side.....Ban/Msystems(now Sandisk) and Israel are not the kings any more, where they were late to the NAND party just as Intel was.
