AGORACOM - Important Notice - Update on Visited Links

posted on Jun 30, 2009 03:22PM

Good Evening to everyone.

Thank you for your participation within the AGORACOM Community. First I would like to address the board regarding George's notice this past Friday as I suspect some of you may have taken this out of context.

I know, since issues on the board are brought to my attention quite often, that camraderie's amongst our members exist, and at times, topics take a coloquial tone. That's fine and with the exception of just a few posts, you won't find yourself in the mailroom as a result of that.

Where I will stand pat is with personal attacks, or hints that USER A is whatever USER B claims they are; if I cannot substantiate it, if there isn't a record my attention can be drawn to, please be advised that this will not be tolerated. Neither will any bickering, namecalling or any other sub-par behavior found on this forum in the recent past (with a very long history I might add) be tolerated. I won't let less than a handful of posters disrupt the harmony and I'll admit, the fun for the rest of the posters.

Yesterday's traffic shows a total of 648 Unique visitors coming to the discussion forum alone, browsing through 1562 pages of information. The numbers alone support our mandate; we are about QUALITY and not QUANTITY. Our business model doesn't depend solely on traffic numbers as our model differs significantly from competitive brands. And we hope we can put what happened last week behind us, and get on with everyone's favorite topic - that is E.Digital. We anticipate that with your support we can make the time we spend here fun again, as I assure you I try very hard to make your time spent here always a pleasant one.

RE: HTML - Visited Links

As of yet, I don't have a conclusive response I can provide for Internet Explorer Users as it doesn't appear to be an issue universally. Our developers are putting in "cookies" as the problem according to this article that seems to be the issue. However we are aware that it's still a problem for far too many people and rest assured, this is not something we have brushed aside.

There are still some other minor bugs we are aware of and we hope with your help we can provide resolution to them in the near future.

In the interim, we appreciate everyone's comments both on the board and via our general inbox regarding the issues on the site, and we anticipate that with your cooperation we can get this hub back on track.

Happy Canada day to our Canadian friend's and in case I do not get a chance to speak with you, a Happy Independence day for our American friends.

Kindest Regards,

Andreas Marouchos
