"Apparently the issue is lack of demand for such an inferior product - slow write, low density, and high cost, combined with likely power consumption issues.'"
NOTE>>>>the above does not consider READ....which is most important.
In e.Digitals case, it wouldn't make a ding dong if it came out or not.
The above if written for NAND flash would read..... SLOW read, FAST write, HIGH density, because of LOW cost to produce, combined with likely power consumption issues.'"
For NAND, e.Digital solves the slow read problem....and the power consumption issues of slow read.

The above if written for NOR flash would read..... FAST read, SLOW write, LOW density because of the cost to produce, combined with likely power consumption issues.'"
For NOR, e.Digital solves the slow write problem....and the power consumption issues of slow write.

NAND is out pacing NOR because of the density issues, and cost to produce status quo cross point architecture(NOR). E.Digital favors NAND because they can also bring total utility to it and the cost to produce issue, where others favor NOR for the status quo architecture and ability because they have NO CHOICE.
In any event, wounder if e.Digital experimented with PRAM yet to see if they can speed up the issues a bit?
