Re: server side, you'd think there would be lots to gain there in efficiencies. You'd be amazed at how often that is not the case. Kind of like out-sourcing/off-shoring - which it essentially is. Companies look at the hard dollar savings and can't resist, often not realizing what they're giving up in terms of their own business. I mean it can work, but it can also bite you. No one takes into account the soft costs and how they can become very real to the bottom line. Me, I'd rather maintain as much control as possible over my own operation... just don't believe the promises. The so-called 'solution providers' often don't know any better than you do. JMO.
