So it's not just a focus on NAND.....there could be as much of a focus on NOR as well....
one more time...
NAND does not have the ability of XIP(execute in place)....it requires a method like e.digitals various claims of caching methodologies......to stream files.
NOR on the other hand.....does not need a caching sequence...it can do it directly....however, e.Digital treats it in the same manner with their caching methods where they get a double ability.
The problem for NOR...is density and the cost to produce because of it's cross point structure(devised for status qo addressing). NAND is serial memory(no cross point addressing) and way cheaper to produce and gain density.
So where does it all go? It all follows the conduit having the least resistance....NAND
What happens from a removable module, can also happen from an SSD sporting tons of NAND gigabytes.....with a partition if need be.
