Is there more than 1 meaning to poison pill?

I'm not at all smart in this area of the law etc, regarding RP's reply to LarrysDream. Please help me here.....

1. RP to Larry described a "shareholders rights" poison pill, which he said was not in place.
2. At the SHM, when asked about the possiblity of a hostile take over, he said we have a poison pill, so no...words to that effect.

Point being, if there is no legal shareholders rights poison pill, yet a single owner, re: Polis Trust in control of the majority % ownership of shares, could that not accomplish the same thing if a hostile offer was not "good enough?"

I see SP's post was 2 years ago come this Dec, so could something have changed?

I'd like your legal take on this....
