It can be as an option....however, wi-fi and RF tracking are two different issues...

e.Digital is more than capable of implementing RF/satellite hardware tracking, however, it may not be cost effective, as the devices are not that expensive. The studios signed on without that being an issue, where their IP apparently is worth more than a device.
