I think we can reasoning say that Samsung wants to control the flash market. IMO in order to do that the need EDig's patents.Let say they don't want to buy little edig just the patents.So they offer 500-600 mil for the patents pay DM a pretty good sum to retain his services and EDIG walks with a large sum of money and still has thier company.
