And, not to prolong the agony, I feel vindicated in my difference of opinion with what has been dished out as the truth about LL departure.

the meat of the Clarification says that LL refused to stop constantly bashing the stock, and so I am sure they gave him an ultimatum - either leave or you will be banned.
