San Diego-based portable entertainment system provider e.Digital Corp. (OTC: EDIG) has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against 19 companies, including Canon, Kyocera, Nokia and Panasonic.
e.Digital alleges in its complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, that the defendants' products infringe upon the e.Digital's U.S. Patent No. 5491774, which covers certain techniques in the use of flash memory technology in recording products.
e.Digital's primary product consists of small entertainment systems often found in airplanes, but the company also specializes in other portable electronics using flash memory.
The accused products in the lawsuit range from digital cameras and camcorders to voice recorders and mobile phones.
Other companies listed in the complaint include Pentax, Ikegami, HTC, Coby Electronics, DXG, Roland, Lecia Camera, Marantz, Imation, Summit Global (DBA Polaroid), Sakar, TEAC (DBA Tascam), Vtech, Wolverine Data and Samson Technologies (DBA Zoom).
