My obsveration is, that Sandisk did not take Woodie serious in the early days and the potential for Woodies tech was over look going into the futuer.
As I stated...NOR does not need e.Digital's concepts.....The industry at that time was based on NOR....and the comment made by Sandisk at that time was...
"Nelson Chan, SanDisk vice president of marketing, said: "The Flashback Audio is an ideal application for SanDisk CompactFlash memory cards. With its small size, durability and low power requirements, CompactFlash was crucial in enabling the development of this audio device. We believe the Flashback Audio has mass popularity appeal and will be a terrific-selling consumer electronics product when it is launched."
It may have been crucial in Mr. Chan's consideration....as this memory has ability beyond NAND....However, NORCompact flash is not crucial for Norris developments ....and I feel Mr. Chan missed the full scope of Woodies ability at that time.
This contest has not only been about Woodies ability.....but the contests between memory manufacturers and a wait and see process between the manufactures.
