Message: revenue
I'm no accountant, but I've read that one factor in determining when revenue is recognized is when the revenue is actually earned.
In the case of a one-time licensing payment that might be calculated, in part, to account for ongoing use of certain intellectual property, is it possible that some portion of the payment might remain unrecognized for the present?
