There were 9 attorneys present and many more on the telephone. 6 present were for various defendants (Canon USA Inc only, Vtech Electronics, Panasonic of North America only, Samson, Teac, Marantz, Coby Electronics, Nokia Inc only). The three DM attorneys were Woody Jameson (a really cool dude!), Matthew Yungwirth, and Jerry Bryant all from DM. The other defendants were represented by their attorneys on the telephone with the following exceptions:
- Sakar was not present and no one knew why not. The judge asked Mr. Jameson if Sakar knew of the court date and he replied he didn't know of a reason why they wouldn't know. They already filed an answer to the complaint in early December and DM hasn't heard anything more from them since.
- Imation was not present and no one knew why. They have been served.
