We already know they are not all on the same page reagrding what to do about defense. They did say they had competition amongst them...

We already know there are some who want to settle...

Depending on the nature of their RESPONSE we can get a measure of how serious are in pushing their proposal that there should be a MARKMAN HEARING before there is Dicovery.

And assuming DM has already started discovery, their response to that would also indicate which companies want to settle and be done with it, or are serious about pushing it before the Court, which should slap them hard...
