If being positive and spreading supportive comments on this board daily, then I am guilty of such. If you feel this approach is actually "hype" as presented in the specific Agora rule, you have every right to flag my post, and Agora or a HL will process the claimed violation as they see fit.

Agora's rule #5:

5. BASHING OR HYPING

Unsubstantiated claims of grandeur or impending doom are best left to Nostradamus as they will cost you some valuable points towards your rating. Also included in this category is repetition of the same question, fact or opinion over and over after a response has been provided or if there is currently no ascertainable answer.

One example from Google:

Definitions of hype on the Web:

  • publicize in an exaggerated and often misleading manner
  • ballyhoo: blatant or sensational promotion

When people post opinions, or analyze the chosen words in a PR, Q report etc, and include IMVHO, JMO, IMO...they are qualifying it is how they personally feel, so not to be violating rule #5 or my one example of many.

Here's hype: "EDIG will be at $2.00 by June 30th, 2010."

Here's an opinion: "EDIG has the potential to be a $2.00 stock by mid-2010, providing the following ten things happen...(list them all) then say, "just my opinion folks and I am hoping for the best...GLTA!!!"

More hype: "Rumor has it EDIG has hired a PR expert and he starts April 1, 2010."

Opinion: "EDIG needs to focus on getting the word out via a massive PR campaign, be it RP taking the lead or hiring an expert, and do so no later than April 1, 2010..IMVHO."

Flag away as you see fit, but please keep the above in mind.

On the name calling apology, accepted...anyone can have a bad day and slip up.

Take care Ted, Dischino.

PS, if you want to discuss this further, feel free to PM me.
