IMS currently provides over 17,000 portable IFE players to the airline market. The company's PAV705 portable is being offered in a semi-embedded fashion on British Airways' new transatlantic Airbus A318 service.

These guys are far ahead of us imo - already using SSDs.. but it's nice to know they're looking at several and wanting less-weight = dumping servers/hubs but yet they still say they want connectivity..Really we require no retrofit, unles you're considering yanking out the old system lol.
