Particularly if the one or many paying have the major portion of the market in sales. Far better than any single payment based on past infringing and to include x-licensing.
Just think if we had an amount for every consumer product sold that utilized a flash card, permanent or removable and in effect until the patents expired.
X amount times X sales times X infringers times X years = a whole bunch of dollars and it's ongoing revenue year to year and with potential growth as well.
