TOKYO -- Ireland'sRyanair is considering a plan that would require travelers to pay either one euro ($1.33) or one British pound ($1.52) for using the restroom on flights lasting one hour or less, according to reports Wednesday. The no-frills carrier said it is working with Boeing Co. to develop a coin-operated door release that will require passengers to deposit change before being able to use the facilities. The airline is also considering removing two of the three lavatories on some planes to fit six more seats, which could reduce fares by at least 5%, the reports said. Ryanair also reportedly will raise its luggage charges to 20 pounds from 15 pounds for the peak summer travel months of May, June, July and August, but will lower them again in September.
