Dear Members,
Thank you dearly for your contributions to the AGORACOM Community and for your efforts in maintaining a fair balance on the EDIG board.
In an effort to increase participation amongst all users, we felt it a fiduciary duty to send you all a note regarding message removal, and the imposition of bans that may not be based on merit or balanced views.
We've reviewed the decision to remove a post by B-Lunist, and have opted to restore public view to the message.
This is not an indication of anyones overall contributions to the Community as a HUB Leader; rather it's a reminder that while it is only natural for members not to agree 100% of times, opinions presented in a factual and constructive manner should not only be permitted on the discussion forum, but also welcomed.
We understand that B-Lunist's questioning of "motives" behind the deletion of the user's post violation to our six rules of use - the user has been explicitly warned not to behave as such in the future, and those posts shall remain deleted.
However in order to maintain an objective and balanced perspective on the forum, we ask that as long as the poster is not flaming you or others directly, that their posts remain on the forum.
Remember, we've received a ton of flack from many posters regarding your stance on this issue, and the fact that we have not taken any further action against you has led to assumptions that we are favouring you over them.
This is not who we are - we don't play the favourites game nor do we play the interpretation game.
As such today we kindly ask you to do your best in reporting ONLY messages that are a clear violation to our six rules of use; not messages that you do not agree with. It's up to the Community of hundreds to decide whether what B-Lunist or anybody else posts has value to them. It is our job to ensure that they have a voice, even if you or others don't agree with what they are saying.
We know very well that moderating a community this size can be a daunting and thankless task; one which requires both openness and tact. Please try to keep emotional or personal perspectives out of your future violation decision making. This will help the discussion forum direct itself back to a factual discussion of your investment, in stead of a personal one.
Thanks again for your contributions to the AGORACOM Community. We look forward to your co-operation regarding this matter.
Kind Regards,
AGORACOM
