SPRINGVILLE, Utah - June 9, 2005 - Wencor today announced an agreement with B/E Aerospace, Inc. (Nasdaq: BEAV) to provide Wencor`s digEsystem™, a new lightweight, state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment (IFE) system on B/E`s Spectrum™ economy class seats.
Wencor`s digEsystem`s architecture is flexible, scalable and uses innovative system and component design techniques. The lightweight solution eliminates the complex and heavy equipment needed for traditional IFE systems and makes it easier to maintain and certify. The system supports a wireless network reducing installation complexity costs and improves reliability. The integrated IFE system will be offered as a certified option on the Spectrum economy class seat.
``We`re excited about the opportunity we now have to team up with the largest seat manufacturer in world,`` said Brent Wood, CEO of Wencor. ``The expertise and synergy each firm brings to the table will allow passengers to sit in comfort while enjoying the cutting edge design, ease of use and wide variety of entertainment choices the digEsystem has to offer.``
The digEsystem is the first and only truly configurable embedded IFE system, allowing airlines the option of providing entertainment to any cabin, zone, seat or passenger on any flight, on any aircraft. It gives passengers a wide array of cabin entertainment options, including Audio/Video On Demand (AVOD). The system can be programmed with movies, television shows, cartoons, videos, music, as well as airline destination information, promotions and advertising, providing an avenue for generating revenue for airlines.
``Wencor`s innovative IFE system is a nice complement to our Spectrum seating platform,`` said Kenneth Rusterholz, Vice President and General Manager - Seating Products, B/E Aerospace. ``It allows our customers a cost effective and timely solution for IFE on both new and existing single-aisle aircraft.``
