PRESS RELEASE: Jetstar Asia Flies To Kolkata From Aug 18

The following is a press release from Jetstar Asia Ltd.

Singapore, July 19, 2005--Jetstar Asia announced today that it would begin services to Kolkata on August 18 with the introduction of three flights a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, making it the first value-for-money airline to fly between Singapore and Kolkata.

Jetstar Asia`s maiden flight from Singapore to Kolkata will be 3K571, leaving Changi Airport at 1630hrs and arriving at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at 1800hrs. The return flight from Kolkata will be Jetstar Asia flight 3K572, which will depart at 1900hrs and touchdown in Singapore at 0135hrs.

To celebrate the launch, one-way fares between Kolkata and Singapore will start from $178 for bookings made before July 31 and travel completed by October 15. Everyday low fares after the launch period will start from $218. Ticket sales will commence on July 20 with availability through its website at www.jetstarasia.com, Jetstar Asia call centre and travel agents.

``Kolkata is a strategic entry-point to growth areas of the Indian business market. Increasing numbers of SME`s are building relationships between Singapore and Kolkata and with the benefit of everyday low fares we see that we can be a partner in developing business between the two cities,`` said Ken Ryan, CEO of Jetstar Asia.

``We`re also excited to see the opening of this route as the demand for leisure travel into Kolkata has been growing in recent years as travellers are always on the look-out for places to explore. Jetstar Asia`s new route opens up the amazing sights of the West Bengal state, including many religious heritage sites like Bodh-Gaya and the beautiful terrain in Darjeeling for trekking. Kolkata is also the base for reaching the north-eastern states of India, Sikkim and the mountain kingdoms of Bhutan and Nepal,`` he said.

``The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) congratulates Jetstar Asia on the inauguration of direct services between Kolkata and Singapore. Kolkata is one of our key markets in India, and we believe that its current economic and middle-class expansions will provide further growth opportunities in leisure and business travel to Singapore. We look forward to working closely with Jetstar Asia in enhancing bilateral tourism flows between Singapore and Kolkata,`` said Dayne Lim, Regional Director for South Asia, Middle East and Africa.

With the service out of Kolkata, Jetstar Asia is also focused on the growing numbers of Indian tourists and business people venturing into Southeast Asia.

``Travellers from India will now have affordable access to destinations throughout Asia, including Hong Kong, Bangkok, Manila and Taipei through our hub in Singapore,`` said Mr Ryan.

While positioned as a value-for-money carrier, Jetstar Asia has recently expanded its offering with flights now offering the digEplayer service which combines music, movies and sitcoms in each seat.
