Last time I did some DD on the Patent issue it was when we were talking about how manyrs are left of EDIG patents for enforement purposes. Must have been at least 2008 ish...

I recall Congress was deluged at the same time with complaints about the length of time it was taking for the examiners to say yay or nay, and people were frustrarted and just gave up waiting...

There was a bill that was going through Congress at the time to remedy the bureaucrats to ACT within a specific time period...

I am not sure if the current rash of rejections is the bureaucracy's way of showing they ACTED. Certainly, it is illogical t assume that any legitimate USPTO INSPECTOR would lack the knoledge of the law he is hired to enforce to such an extent that he would ssue RECTIONS willy-nilly as was done in EDIG case and apparent from the DM position expressed in their communications...
