The exodus is happening without it being obvious, however is being replaced by new shareholders based on a set of new opportunities.
Lots of sellers down here. Since the beginning of the year almost 36 million shares have been traded at these low levels.
Using the total shares of 293 million and 35000 accounts, the average account equals less than 9000 shares.
Based on the approximate total number of shareholders, if just 10% of them have sold, then each have sold about 12,000 shares. At 5%, the the total shares sold equals 24, 000.
Looking at the last two years, starting Jan 2009, over 90 million shares have been traded/sold. If only 10% of the shareholders represent all of the sales, then each would have sold 30,000+ shares, a substantial amount. Using 5%, the total shares sold would approximate 60,000 shares each, which is 6 times the average shareholder account amount.
If you use the average of of about 9000 shares per account, then about 10,000 accounts would have sold there shares or approximately 30% of the shareholders, a significant number.
