Message: Apple to increase iTunes music quality

Interesting, don't think it has anything to do with us

CNN has reported that Apple will be increasing the quality of their music files purchased from iTunes in the near future. According to a recently published article, the owners of the largest most successful digital music store has plans to upgrade their audio files from the current 16-bit format to a 24-bit high-fidelity format – the quality that studio recordings and masters are usually saved in before they get compressed down to 16-bit for distribution on CDs. But because their current players (iPod and iPhone) don’t support 24-bit audio output (they can play such files, but the files are reduced in quality when output), a refresh of their portable musicplayers is in order.
