Woody Norris testified under oath that RAM is a requirement for the '774 patent to work. The Flashback product was used during the Markman to prove there is RAM inside it. DM showed pictures of the inside of a Flashback and got the defense's own expert to admit to seeing DRAM based on the number on the DRAM component. DRAM stands for dynamic random access memory which is a form of RAM.
And since the Flashback is the embodiment of the '774 patent, and how it works was demonstrated to the patent examiner back in 1995, then the inventors obviously intended for RAM to process the sound electrical signals, even though it's not specifically cited in the patent. Flash memory is used to store the recorded digital information.
