Sink, yes you are right from a 19 defendant view since Hoya Corp., Hoya Corp. USA and Pentax of America are all considered "Pentax".

I was thinking of the original 33 individual defendant companies identified in Doc 01. Your view is more correct (correcter? LOL) since if one company settles, their sister or subsidiary company will also likely settle. Thanks for straightening me out. ;)

According to Doc 374 (Markman hearing transcript), Featherstone Petrie Desisto defended Pentax along with TEAC who have settled. Per Doc 374, they also currently represent Kyocera, Panasonic, HTC, Samson Technologies and VTECH Electronics. Hmmmm, are these companies also in settlement negotiations?

I find it interesting too, that per Doc 374, Eric Cohen also represented TEAC and currently represents Kyocera and Samson Technologies. He gave the defense's opening and closing remarks at the Markman hearing.

It's been suggested that perhaps Judge Krieger has been waiting on the recent Supreme Court ruling in the i4i v. Microsoft case before releasing her Markman ruling. I wonder if the defendants were also waiting on this i4i ruling and perhaps now are more in a settlement mood.

Nothing on PACER after hours.
