Here is my guess...

The more I think about the ‘Nunchi’ project, the more I see it involved in the Cloud hype.

Let’s face it... Apple is now migrating all its services to the Cloud with iCloud. All the big guys are jumping in there too, Microsoft, Amazon, Google,...

Storing data on devices will soon (LOL) be obsolete. BUT all devices will need some interface/hardware to manage/render content to the user in various forms.

So here we go... just speculation... I see Nunchi as a secured gateway between the device/data stored locally/data stored in the cloud. Remember e.Digital current Flash patents for I/O and soon awarded patent for security (hoping)... And Pat Nunally saying “It is operational, and today there are mobile phones now running NUNCHI, bringing live services over CDMA wirless networks’

Where does it fit in the current offerings ? I don’t know. But it surely fits in Apple’s iTunes Cloud Service System for example : http://www.crunchgear.com/2011/05/19/apple-patents-a-streaming-music-service-that-has-a-key-advantage-over-current-providers/
