After looking closely at '737 #5 and a recent Sman... post, that is my speculative conclusion. I just can't imagine '737 coming into existance without '747 already in place. We'll see.

claim 5 specifically requires that both the flash memory recording chip and a hand held recording device take part in the memory integrity test. As the claim language itself makes clear, the test starts when the flash memory recording chip is inserted intothe hand heldrecording device.
