Claim 1 and claim 19 side by side,
19. A record/playback device for use with a removable, interchangeable, flash memory recording medium which enables extended recording comparable with tape cassette dictating equipment, said device comprising:
a housing;
a microphone element coupled to the housing and con-figured to receive and process sound into electrical signals;
control circuitry coupled to the microphone element and including signal input circuitry, amplification circuitry, memory control circuitry, signal output circuitry and control logic circuitry for performing record and play-back functional operations with respect to the electrical signals and other regulated components of the record/ playback device;
said switch means coupled to the control circuitry for selecting the desired functional operations to be per-formed;
a receiving socket electrically coupled to the memory control circuitry and configured for electrical coupling with a recording medium which is capable of retaining recorded digital information for storage; (Digital management information for memory quality issues: Claim 5 of the ‘737 Patent , and Analog files stored on analog memory)
a flash memory module which operates as sole memory of the received processed sound electrical signals (state Analog not processed per court consideration[1])and is capable of retaining recorded digital information for storage in nonvolatile form; (Digital management information for memory quality issues: Claim 5 of the ‘737 Patent, and Analog files stored on digital memory....ie....NAND see link analog values stored on NAND structures )
[2]the device use only flash memory, not RAM or any other memory system, while engaging the CODEC, DSP (as applicable), and memory control functions, as well as storing the fully-manipulated data."
a speaker coupled to the control circuitry for playback of recorded digital information; and power source coupled to the control circuitry for supplying electrical power to the device.

IMO, 737 will relate to the "information" issue with regard to Claim 1 and Claim 19.....there is a digital issue considered for both.
The court must now consider...Note two options of memory for claim 19....and one option for claim 1
A. “flash memory” (Claims 1, 2 and 19 of the ‘774 Patent and Claim 5 of the ‘737 Patent)
e.Digital’s Proposed Construction: "block erasable non-volatile memory"
Defendants’ Proposed Construction: "block erasable non-volatile memory that is the main memory of the system "
=====================================
Courts construction "a flash memory module which operates as sole memory of the received processed sound electrical signals"
"Accordingly, the Court concludes that the proper construction of the phrase “a flash memory module which operates as sole memory of the received processed sound electrical signals” is best addressed in two parts.
[1]The phrase “received processed sound electrical signals” refers to the electrical signals that have been generated by the microphone and passed through the amplifier and gain control circuits, but have yet to be converted by the CODEC.
[2]The remainder of the disputed language requires that the device use only flash memory, not RAM or any other memory system, while engaging the CODEC, DSP (as applicable), and memory control functions, as well as storing the fully-manipulated data."
