IMO, you are exactly right about this... it’s all about the money.
I think many here (including myself) wrongly assumed that DM would go for the "big win" since it would lead to large-dollar judgements and/or settlements. What we’ve witnessed in the TX-7 and here again with the CO-19 is that DM was perfectly willing to accept small settlements as "bread and butter" type work so to speak. Neither DM nor management has any real incentive to try for 10's or 100's of millions if they can safely bank several 0.2-2.0 million dollar "nuisance" settlements with less work and less risk. The trouble is that approach hasn’t developed into any increased shareholder value and despite the "flurry" of settlements in recent weeks, isn’t looking like it’s going to anytime soon.
