The speculative patent frenzy continues.
Interdigital, a mobile technology IP licensing company which not all that long ago was supposedly a potential acquisition for Google, has a variety of other potential suitors, Bloomberg reports.
The news wire says that Intel, Samsung, Ericsson and HTC are all reviewing confidential data about Interdigital’s patent portfolio. The piece says Google is losing interest, which seems pretty obvious given they just agreed to shell out $12.5 billion for Motorola Mobility. The story says Microsoft and Apple also have looked; bids are supposedly due in two weeks.
Interdigital disclosed in July that the company has hired Evercore Partners and Barclays Capital to explore a sale or other transaction.
The story didn’t do much for Interdigital shares today; the stock on Friday fell $3, or 4.5%, to $64.13.
