``The decryption at the GUI is what EDIG is able to do correct?``

The user interface has nothing to do with it...

however,...e.Digital with their proprietary implementation... carried forth an approved closed system product involving specific measures of security.

``The evidence must be presented to Hollywood and other content owners, and they must agree that it provides the required level of security. Written proof from at least three of the major Hollywood studios is required.``

Some time back I posted my opinion that e.Digital should move toward expansion card development for PCI or AGP.....allowing the likes of WENCOR to supply their own device with expansion capability....and by plugging in an expansion card offer the same ability as the DigE....for what ever codec content platform desired.

The card having...similar I/O ability as DigE...along with an automated configuration of formatting the supplied onboard storage device into two partitions....one side to stay as is..the other proprietary to the card....or supply a removable minidrive with the card.

``Given the data throughput possible with PCIe, there is a new class of discrete graphics cards that, to reduce costs, do not have much memory on the board. They use system memory accessed over the PCIe bus.``

``In the limit, this lack of local memory means that, for example, to decode, de-interlace, and render a frame of HD may require that an HD frame be sent backward and forward over the PCIe bus many times — it could be as many as 10 times.``

I feel they can make it all happen on a card...not having to be involved in all the other.....and still get the 500.00 per unit for a closed system.

If e.Digital has an ability of hardware encryption of NAND flash on the card or minidrive arrangement...They would have the ability to lock up items of importance and not worry about the card being stolen....just like the DigE.
