Claim 5 recites “ Activating […..] by manually inserting the flash memory into the plug assembly “ Therefore claim 5 requires activation by manual insertion.
The “737” patent teaches another method of activating the memory integrity test. Activating a memory integrity test of said flash memory by manually inserting batteries into the recording device that is electrically coupled to the flash memory.
Accordingly , the “ 737 “ patent discloses two distinct method of activation :
1 .Inserting Flash Memory
2. Inserting Batteries

1 . tamio discloses using ECC to detect transient errors.
2 . ECC is turned off after initialization
3 . Detecting errors can be one part of detecting defects , but there must be something more , which Tamio does not disclose.
Re prior art Toru
1 . Toru teaches performing a test to identify memory insertion errors.
2. Toru teaches checking “ identification storage areas (A1/B1) “ and check data storage area (A2/B2).
