Alaska Airlines Launches Daily Service Between Dallas/Fort Worth, Seattle and Anchorage

SEATTLE, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alaska Airlines today began daily nonstop service between Dallas/Fort Worth and Seattle, marking the latest in a series of route expansions. The two daily flights are timed for convenient connections to cities throughout the Pacific Northwest and Canada, both on Alaska Airlines and its sister carrier Horizon Air. One of the flights offers same-plane continuing service to and from Anchorage.

``Dallas/Fort Worth is a natural continuation of Alaska`s strategy to selectively expand our network from the Pacific Northwest,`` said Gregg Saretsky, Alaska`s executive vice president of marketing and planning. ``Many of our Seattle and Anchorage travelers already frequent the Dallas/Fort Worth market, making it a perfect addition to our route structure.`` Saretsky noted that Alaska previously served Dallas/Fort Worth with codeshare flights operated by other carriers.

``We welcome Alaska Airlines to DFW and look forward to the new flight options and low fares Alaska will offer,`` said Joe Lopano, executive vice president of marketing and terminal management for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. ``Passengers from North Texas now have more opportunities to connect to the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and beyond.``

Dallas/Forth Worth International Airport, the third-busiest airport in the world, is the 12th destination added to the Seattle-based carrier`s route system since 2001. Other recent route expansions include service to Boston, Chicago, Denver, New York/Newark, Orlando, Washington, D.C., and Mexico City.

Traveling southbound, flight 810 departs Seattle at 12:20 a.m. Pacific time and arrives in Dallas/Fort Worth at 6:10 a.m. Central time. Flight 808, which originates in Anchorage at 6 a.m. Alaskan time and offers same-plane continuing service, departs Seattle at 11:20 a.m. Pacific time and arrives in Dallas/Fort Worth at 5:10 p.m. Central time.

Traveling northbound, flight 811 departs Dallas/Fort Worth at 7 a.m. Central time and arrives in Seattle at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Flight 809 departs Dallas/Fort Worth at 6:10 p.m. Central time, arrives in Seattle at 8:10 p.m. Pacific time and provides same-plane continuing service to Anchorage arriving at 11:30 p.m. Alaskan time.

Alaska will operate Boeing MD-80 aircraft on the route, which accommodate 12 passengers in first class and 128 in the main cabin. The flights will be equipped with Alaska`s state-of-the-art digEplayer entertainment system, a handheld video-on-demand device offering customers first-run movies, television programs and other entertainment options from the comfort of their own seats.

To inaugurate the new route, Alaska is offering introductory one-way fares of $89 between Seattle and Dallas/Fort Worth and $149 between Anchorage and Dallas/Fort Worth. Customers must book and purchase their tickets by Oct. 6, 2005, and travel between Sept. 12 and Dec. 14, 2005. Reservations must be made 14 days in advance, seats are limited and introductory fares may not be available on all flights or on all days. Additional restrictions apply. Details are available at alaskaair.com.

Alaska also is offering Double Miles for Mileage Plan members who travel the route through Nov. 10, 2005. To qualify, members must first register at alaskaair.com.
