I understand what you're talking about. Some are irritated by what they perceive as "too positive" some are irritated by what they percieve is "too negative".

A good litmus test would be:

1. The frequency that someone posts

2. The number of their posts that fall under one category or the other.

For example Maplecity's last post was in April and January prior to that. Most of his posts are questions or comments on posts. He tends to be neutral to positive but certainly cannot be considered to be a hype in any way.

You in comparison post fairly frequently and while some of your most recent posts seem to be relatively benign, the vast majority of your posts are negative in nature and good portion of which could be considered bashing due to topic or repetition.

We are all entitled to our opinions/feelings regarding eDig. There are good reasons to feel negative and few obvious ones to be positive at this point. The occasional complaint, grumble or even tirade is totally understandable. That however is no reason to bring the entire board down with virtual constant b******g.

The vast majority of us have been here for, a long time and are very well aware of what our situation is. Regardless of our differences and the squables and irritations we're a little like a normal disfunctional family (at least to me). Unless one goes totally off the deep end, everyone plays an important role one way or the other and it just wouldn't be the same without each of us.

Obviously your pet peeve is what you consider to be hyping, if you see a post that you "really feel is hyping" flag it and let it be processed. My pet peeve is constant negativity to the point of breaking the rules due to repetition or bashing and when I "really feel it is repetitious or bashing" I flag it.

Being human we all make mistakes, we all get irritated we all lash out. I know I'm guilty of each of those and more myself. I hope we can all strive to be better than the worst part of ourselves and at least try to be aware of the effect of what we do and say have on others.
