This forum is intended to discuss EDIG.

Don`t get me wrong; I don`t have a big ptoblem with people bringing in off-topic discussion - within limits. When it goes on and on (as opposed to being purely informative) with unwarranted speculation attached/implied, it can lead to (perhaps, and probably) unintended hype.

Way back when EL used to post all kinds of informative PRs, etc., I kept looking for the EDIG connection (which really wasn`t there). Once I realized it was intended to be purely informative about the overall marketplace, I no longer had a problem. But for a period of time I was digesting these posts and wasting precious gray matter trying to find the dots. It was all due to the implication that we were somehow involved, purely due to the fact that this is a board to discuss all things EDIG. It also has to due with respect. I respected EL`s input (as I do many posters), figured he was a smart guy and Long EDIG. Therefore, there had to be something to all those info-only posts. But there wasn`t.

As for people investing based on what`s said on these boards - you/most would consider that to be a stupid move. But I must say that I`m influenced to a degree. And look at the other, not really monitored boards. Those posters would not be going nuts posting negatives 24/7 if they didn`t think they were influencing others in their investment decision. They simply wouldn`t waste their time if they didn`t think there would be a result in their favor.

Put another way, if you had a pocket fully of investment money on the sidelines, flew AA and used a digEplayer and were very impressed, had turned the unit over and saw APS and eDigital, did some research, found that APS was owned by Wencor which is privately held (no investment opportunity there), found EDIG and frowned at the financials, but saw potential, but before taking the plunge, looked at the RB EDIG board for just a few minutes, would you invest? Probably not. Even if the financials were a little black? Probably not. I wouldn`t.
