Obscuring the data

On Nov 15 edig said ``The company also announced it has received an IFE order totaling more than $1.2 million from APS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wencor (APS/Wencor). With this order, e.Digital currently has over $2.2 million in total booked orders with further orders expected this quarter.``

Today, Dec 22, the company says ``it expects revenues and advance payments, on purchase orders for products scheduled to ship next quarter, of over $2.2 million for the quarter ending December 31, 2004``

So what happened to ``total booked orders.`` They were willing to announce that in November, but not in December?

Why does this remind me of the dumba$$ ``revenue neutral`` remark from a few years ago? What does this mean? Why lump revenues and advances together in a way that obscures the data? Are we closer to 1 million in revenue for the quarter, or 2 million? You won`t find the answer in the company press releases.

Seems to me Atul hasn`t changed things at all. Management is still playing with smoke and mirrors.
