APIs - Application Program Instructions...to carry out high level function calls for the operating system.

BIOS calls...implemented in firmware or hardware...lower level function calls written specifically for particular hardware.....e.g....different types of memory media...etc.

My definition of interface includes both high level calls, low level calls, circuitry controller concepts....as well as sub patented issues ...e.g...737.

Collectively you would recognize them all.....as an interface to memory...any memory....over write, or non over write.
