"How is it posible for this to be true if edig has the patent for it."
edig does not have patents for it...it has patents to interface it.
One in particular is 737...in managing bad memory cells....Very...very, very important in the manner that they do it.
What they offered to NOR was very important .....because of ..."NOR-based flash has long erase and write times". That problem was more a problem of the methods that traditionally used to interfaced ....e.Digitals interface and data management is completely different making things more speedy with less exertion on erase(flashing) issues of large blocks.
Though they made it easier for NOR....the focus was on NAND having much smaller erase(flash) blocks.
Yet another very, very, very, very, very important aspect of the interface are the methods that stream data in and out of the flash. (did I emphasize this enough?...lol)
e.Digital is after companies that have interfaced the flash in the same fashion...as well as device controller issues that have nothing to do with the flash.
There's a bunch of stuff going on here...Though the flash issues are very, very important, don't get hung up on the flash...as their interface issues are not only about the flash.
