SanDisk files declaratory judgment action against LSI regarding MP3 technology
March 2010
Jones Day represented SanDisk Corporation as the plaintiff in a declaratory judgment action involving eight LSI Corporation patents that related to MP3 players, MP3 audio codecs, and MPEG video codec technologies. Jones Day also defended SanDisk against allegations of infringing the eight patents-in-suit. The case also involved various state law claims relating to threats of infringement claims against SanDisk customers. After a Markman hearing and issuance of a preliminary claim construction order, the case settled favorably in March 2010.
