"Samsung will have enough resources to fulfill its M&A plans, as it currently has about 37.45 trillion won (US$34.35 billion) in cash and cash equivalents."
Why would a company like Samsung sit around when the stock of e.Digital is/was so relatively cheap?
Hypothetically, I'd have formed a multitude entities and have them individually purchase stock on the open market, keeping the ownership under the legal limits avoiding to have to file SEC papers......for any company that I might feel has justifiable technology.
It's been so long, there's no telling what type ownership there is on the street....and we have had, from time to time, strange volume trading over the years that made no sense.
Would you throw 10 or 15 mill at such an endeavour ?....pocket change for Samsung(having an eye on the flash industry from the get go) to do as I consider.
I guess, one would have to consider how important is e.Digital (?), Why was e.Digital sitting at the table of the Voice Times Alliance and, why was there Intel representation sitting on e.Digitals board?
Why play fair in the open, or up front with M & A ?
