In reply to EL`s post, and to clarify a couple of things (where I believe I get his intent):

Yes they told us who owns what, and we`ve researched patents and trademarks, and it is what EL (and RP) says, they own the name and the skin, we own the guts (Doni may disagree). So,

``EDIG owns the technology inside [the digEplayer] and the DigePlayer was developed by APS, [APS] owns the copywrite of the exterior [and the name ``digEplayer``].``

And I believe EL is correct. We don`t get royalties for the digEs, we simply sell them the digEs. When I buy a product, I don`t pay any friggin` royalties - I pay the sales price. But I can`t just go out and duplicate it, because someone owns rights to everything associated with that product (unless you`re talking whirlygigs, and I wouldn`t be surprised....). But if they enabled me to duplicate the product (i.e., licensed rights to me), I`d be paying royalties. Does that clarify the royalties thing?

This dovetails into the ``who does the manufacturing`` issue. EDIG oversees the manufacturing (I`d bet for a very small fee, as I honestly doubt they exert a lot of effort here). If Wencor took over that function, they`d have to license tech from us. At what price (licensing fee plus ongoing royalty amounts)? Whatever is negotiated. So if we kinda have Wencor over a barrel from a tech and ``consistency`` standpoint, we could theoreticaly earn more under that scenario than we do currently (though that`s unlikely - but the point is made).

And in response to other posts:

This ``speculation`` about Wencor being exclusive on the digEplayer, and EDIG going it independent on the medEviewer. It`s not speculation, it`s fact (per what we`ve been told and what makes sense). EDIG can`t go it alone on the digEplayer; the name and skin belong to Wencor. And why didn`t EDIG just take the AMTRAK/RWM deal themselves? WE WERE TOLD it was because, at the time EDIG was approached by RWM, they didn`t have independent access to content. No content, no product. Wencor had content, so we turned the business over to them so we could sell digEs to Wencor. Better that than lose the business to, say, IMS. Now we`ve got/are getting content independent of Wencor, and we have the medEviewer (different name and skin, plus a lot of other bells and whistles), so now we have our own product. And yes, we can sell it anywhere and, IMO, anyone (even for IFE).

Unless I truly KNOW nuttin`, that`s the way it is. All this banter about stuff I thought we already knew.... Unless you guys were just funnin`, it deserves another ``sheesh``! Please correct me where I`m wrong (well, except for the ``sheesh`` part! LOL).
