The NUNCHI® Technologies

Nunchi is a set of technologies which retrieves user data and data from an array of existing mobile sensors, such as those already incorporated in smartphones. The technology enables innovative services and information based on analysis, recognition, and understanding of the users’ immediate environment/needs and affecting interactions among people, satisfying current and emerging consumer needs and enhancing mobile product offerings of current and new service providers.

These technologies can be implemented in a common platform allowing service providers to support an early set of simplistic services while building and fielding an ever wider range of applications and early offerings, such as activity based communication screening (based on the user’s availability and the nature of the call), to more complex tasks, such as optimizing a user’s social interactions, personal security, journaling, medical, health/wellness, identity security, advertising and physical activities to enrich their lives. The technology can keep users better informed and connected while reducing the need for their attention to a mobile communication device.

The Nunchi Technologies are addressed in a series of issued patents, and continues to be developed, extending the intellectual property protection through a number of pending continuations. The following table summarizes the basic information regarding this technology portfolio.

At an abstract level, the Nunchi Technologies enable systems and methods to automatically provide differing levels of information according to a predetermined social hierarchy.

  • The system includes communication devices, memory and servers. The communication devices contain sensors of, at least, two types and transmits readings based on those sensors along with other data (social signatures) through existing communications infrastructures.
  • The memory contains social template information corresponding to the analysis, classification and recognition of activities represented in social signatures.
  • The processor, which processes the social signatures, utilizing the social templates, and historical data determines the actions to take based on that analysis and the service parameters defined for the specific service implementation.

Naturally, the various patent documents contain the most authoritative disclosure of the Nunchi Technologies.
