Given the great summary of the cool Lab, the only thing that I would like to add is that I left there very optimistic about the future. All the issues about the adoption of the new technology that the previous posters wrote is true. The manufacturers receive many proposals everyday. Yet, even if they like something they are willing to wait because technology changes so fast that they want to make sure that it won't become obsolete tomorrow.

Again, I am firm believer that one needs two things to be successful in the market place: a technological innovation that changes the paradigm and adequate knowledge about how to manage this technology.

In the past Edig had the former but not the latter. They went to the market and started showing the music player without having any patents on it. These days are clearly gone. Not only they have patents and patents that protect theis patents but according to Fred and Pat they and their attorneys might spend a whole week tyranizing a single word. Now, no matter how well these patents are written, as long as we have the likes of Steve Jobs who has said that "he loves stealing technology from others and let the attorneys clear the mess later" we will always have violators of intellectual property.

Now, on another subject. We owe a big thanks to one of us; namely, BIG JOE, who was thanked especially by Fred himself for all the technical information he continously passes on to the company that members of our board hawrite about. He suggested that it has helped the technical guys there. Finally, and this is not a joke, a number of people confused JOE with Guido himself and that, unfortunately, became later ugly.
