You are correct and it's been in that deep bucket since 10-7-2010 when the RCE was received by the PTO.

During many joint visits by DRVEN and I, we asked the status, why is this with zero activity for years etc.

Fred's response was simply two things:

1. there is no internal manditory timeframe to address RCE's, new patent applications have 1st priority and there is a timeline goal as well, normally 18 to 24 months depending on workload.
2. our patent attorney makes regular contact documenting our continued efforts for a decision.

This literally went of for 3 years and he explained it at the SHM too.

IMO, the microSignet timing is pure conicidence.
