I think your well thought out analysis is much more than just "wishing and hoping"

We settle with Apple so abruptly ( a few months after we filed after waiting for action for a decade?) it must have been driven by one of three reasons.

EDIG decided we didn't have much of a case and took what we could.

Apple offered EDIG sufficient economic incentives ( settlement and royalties) that we were happy with the settlement offer.

The parties " cleared the deck" so to enter into another business relationship not burdened with other issues.

I'm wrong more than I am right but why doesn't option number three seem like the strongest scenario?
