"having learned from past mistakes"

There were no past mistakes....

What there was, was an industry built on methods that tried to morph into other forms that just did not fit well, or function economically.

We all sat around watching the industry try to come up with methods to down size computing methods to a new age. From battery backed RAM (if you remember the company PALM), to FTL ( flash translation layer) if you remember Msystems, then NFTL (nand flash translation layer) to you name it.

It was all tried and we could do nothing but watch as they played around, there simply was no hurry on the industries part to come up with any thing substantial....and Msystems (now SANDISK) ruled for many years with FTL methods.

e.Digital was ahead of the time.....perhaps the timing is right this time.
